Book Review: al-Ahaadeeth an-Nabawiyyah fee Dhamm-il-'Unsuriyyah al-Jaahiliyyah

al-Ahaadeeth an-Nabawiyyah fee Dhamm-il-'Unsuriyyah al-Jaahiliyyah
By ash-Shaykh ‘Abdus-Salaam bin Birjas bin ‘Abdil-Kareem
With foreword by ash- Shaykh Saalih Fawzaan al-Fawzaan
First Edition published by Maktabah ar-Rushd
69 Pages

The following is an excellent collection of prophetic narrations concerning the prohibition of racism in Islaam compiled by the late Shaykh ‘Abdus-Salaam bin Birjas bin ‘Abdil-Kareem (rahimahullah) with a foreword by ash-Shaykh Saalih Fawzaan al-Fawzaan (hafithahullah) a member of the Permanent Committee of Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I received this copy from my brother Aboo ‘Abdillah of al-Hujjah may Allah bless him.

The Shaykh presents twenty two narrations dealing with al-‘Unsuriyyah (Racism) and al-Qawmiyyah (Nationalism/Tribalism). He presents each narration with the full Harakaat and its source (Bukhaaree, Muslim, etc). If the narration presents difficult words or phrases the Shaykh explains them. He also brings some statements of the companions commenting on some of the narrations. The narrations are ideal for memorizing but the commentary may be a little harder to commit to memory and Allah knows best. This is a great reference book and an eye-opener regarding a topic many Muslims fall into even in this day and age. May Allah unite the Muslims and grant us Tawfeeq with our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters.
