Book Review: Mawsoo’at-ul-Aadaab-il-Islaamiyyah
I just got this two volume copy of Mawsoo’at-ul-Aadaab-il-Islaamiyyah (Encyclopedia of Islamic Manners) from Daar-us-Salaam, and I have to say that I am very impressed. The book is authored by ‘Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Mu’taaz and has an introduction by ash-Shaykh ‘Abdullah bin Sulaymaan al-Manee, one of the members of the Organization for Major Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Each book is over a thousand pages and contains many topics that could be used for Friday sermons or as a class to instruct Muslims in Islamic manners. The author deals with the servants manners towards Allah, then moves on towards manners towards the Prophet, peace be upon him, the companions, the scholars, the everyday Muslims, and then goes into detail about manners related to eating, drinking, seeking forgiveness, etc. I think the author covered almost every Islamic manner that one can think of. The price was kind of steep, I am sure I could have gotten it cheaper if I was still in Riyadh, but since I am not, I have to eat the high prices Islamic bookstores charge here in the West. Other than that, this is a much needed book to have on the shelf.

Ahsan Allaahu ilaik akhi.
Your book reviews are an easy shortcut for me, instead of me going out and searching for them, I rely on your reviews.
Jazaak Allaahu khair.
p.s. I thought you are still hear in Saudia. Anyways, wherever you may be, Allaah keep you firm with strong Imaan and good health.
wa ilaykum Ahsan Allah,
May Allah reward you for your post.
No, not in Saudi anymore. Been back a year now. I miss it dearly. Make Duaa for me that I return upon completion of my education. I have managed to double up on classes and I am now a sophomore. If I keep going at this rate I will complete my Bachelors within 3 years, Allah willing.
Allah bless you and yours.
